After a year indoors, we are thrilled to return to our annual sponsored walk as part of Refugee Week. The Refugee Week theme this year is appropriately ‘We Cannot Walk Alone‘, so this year we are ‘Walking Together‘. Our walkers will start in Bradford City Centre and walk a 10-mile route to Leeds; mostly along the canal path and finishing at the pleasant Kirkstall Abbey, just up the road from the Home Office immigration reporting centre at Waterside Court.
To keep in line with all safe Covid guidance, we are limiting the number of walkers to 30 – but there is no limit on sponsors and donors! All funds raised will support our work with those seeking asylum in the Bradford area.
If you are unable to walk with us but would like to donate , head to our fundraising page here https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/BEACONwalk
Why? The walk aims to show solidarity with and highlight the injustices faced by people seeking asylum and to raise vital funds for BEACON’s work.
