Help develop and support our work – join our Trustees!

We are seeking new trustees!

We are seeking additional trustees to govern BEACON and help shape the future of the organisation. We are looking for skilled and committed individuals to join the unpaid Board of Trustees. The Board is collectively responsible for the governance and strategic direction of BEACON. Successful applicants will be expected to take an active role in ensuring the organisation works towards its key vision, objectives and goals.

We are especially interested in applicants with lived experience in seeking asylum in the UK. We would also love to hear from applicants with knowledge and expertise in asylum law, PR/marketing and digital innovation.

Trustees are asked to commit an average of 1- 2 days each month to the organisation, which will include attending board meetings, possible sub-group meetings and occasional events. They will be expected to remain well-informed about the organisation and its activities and take a personal interest in and collective responsibility for its development and sustainability.

Ideally, new board members will have some understanding of the voluntary sector and small charities.

How to apply

Interested candidates are asked to make initial contact with Katy Armitstead (Team Leader) by emailing beacon@beaconbradford.org or calling 07419 990578.

Applicants will then be asked to send the Chair of BEACON: a CV, details of two references and a short supporting statement setting out why they want to become a Trustee of BEACON; what skills and qualities they would bring to the Board; why they are interested in the position and what qualities make them a suitable candidate. Applications will then be reviewed by the Board of Trustees.
