BEACON is seeking to appoint 2 x Project Coordinators to manage our CHAT English Club and CHAT Phoenix House projects:

CHAT English Club Coordinator 

BEACON is a small Christian charity working to support the needs of asylum seekers in Bradford. The role of the CHAT English Club Co-ordinator is to ensure the smooth running and delivery of the CHAT English Club. The club offers English conversation classes to asylum seekers and other members of the community. It is a fun learning environment for those wishing to practise their English conversational skills. The Co-ordinator will also recruit and supervise volunteers. The class is open to all levels and focuses on conversation, building confidence and enjoyment.

CHAT English Club is held from 10am-12pm every Wednesday morning at Touchstone, 4 Easby Road, Bradford, BD7 1QX

Hours5 hours p/wk (including 10am-12pm every Wednesday)
Salary£19, 554 (pro rata) [NJC Pay Scale 4 Spinal Column Point 7]
ContractThe post is for 1 year with the expectation of continuation, dependent on funding

CHAT Phoenix House Coordinator 

BEACON is a small Christian charity working to support the needs of asylum seekers in Bradford. CHAT Phoenix House is a project for people attending immigration and asylum hearings at the Phoenix House Immigration and Asylum Tribunal Hearing Centre in Thornbury, Bradford. Volunteers offer a listening ear and a friendly face in addition to refreshments and signposting information. The CHAT Phoenix House Coordinator will liaise with staff at Phoenix House, support volunteers to deliver the service and work to develop and sustain the project. The project currently runs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Hours5 hours p/wk (working days to be negotiated)
Salary£19, 554 (pro rata) [NJC Pay Scale 4 Spinal Column Point 7]
ContractThe post is for 1 year with the expectation of continuation, dependent on funding
